Alex Shoemaker lights up his tires after scoring a big win at Riverside Raceway

The drivers of N4Nites were at the Riverside Raceway for some road course racing. A
few drivers didn't make it to the track this week. Missing from the lineup was points
leader Dave Porter and teamate John Boneske. Mike Redd and Ronnie Perryman also took a
pass on this super fast road course.
Jamie Little caught up with winner Alex Shoemaker after the race.
Jamie: Well congratulations Alex, how was your race?
Alex: My race was perfect. We had an awesome car, definately the one to
beat. My crew got a perfect setup in the car and we just flew around the track.
I was a little worried there at the end. Ben had a great car and could keep up
with me. He was alot faster then me going into the hard right hander, other then
that we were matched. First win here at N4Nites, I love racing with these guys!
Jamie: Why didn't you pit there towards the end?
Alex: I was hoping Ben wouldn't pit and stay out. I knew that if no
one pitted, I had the car to win the race. I got lucky there at the end but I
guess he got loose and spun the car around. Thought he was going to catch up to
me again, I ended up loosing 2nd and 4th gear.
Jamie: Well awesome job tonight, I'll let you go celebrate your victory.
Alex: Thank you Jamie.
Jamie Little also catches up to Ben Simmons.
Jamie: Ben, how did your race go?
Ben: Alright, can't complain.
Jamie: What happened there at the end?
Ben: Got alittle over excited, had not been in the car for awhile. I
got a good jump on him and the car went around. Tonight was my first time on the
track.
Jamie: How was your car?
Ben: Fast, a little bit loose, overall it could have been faster if I had
more time to work on it. Last caution I put a little more tape on it and the last
few laps, it really started to take off.
Jamie: Anything else you'd like to add?
Ben: Nope, just congrats to Alex on his first win here at N4Nites.
that is awesome.
Jamie found Jeff Prutzman in the garage looking over a heavily damaged race car.
Jamie: So Jeff, how do you summarize your day?
Jeff: Well, even though I had a great car, I couldn't keep it on the track
consistantly. Got into the gravel or sand or whatever that stuff was way to many
times. It was like quick sand. You could lose a half a minute if you got into
some of the deeper ones.
Jamie: What happened to you during the race?
Jeff: I got hit in the back by the 60 twice going into the hairpin just
before the other hairpin turn with the hill in it, and that set me back a quite bit.
I also put it in the sand all by myself a few times. Before I knew it I was 2
laps down. During the practice session I felt like I was going to be able to
keep it up front and either win it or finish 2nd or 3rd. Alex did a good job.
He was well prepared and very fast. I heard from his crew chief that they have been
here all week long, perfecting their setup and it sure as hell paid off for Alex and the #01
team. Congratulations to Alex on his 1st win here at N4Nites. I'm still looking
for my 1st win here.
