-
NO intentional wrecking will be tolerated - Any driver who intentionally
wrecks another driver will be permanently banned from this league.
-
No one is allowed to be logged in to the server by another party. If you are running
late, email one of the admins ASAP and explain the circumstances. In most cases, a short
delay in start time can be arranged.
-
Only drivers who are registered through RPM to race in the N4Nites Cup
Series and N4Nites Nationwide Series and have reserved a car number in a particular series will
be allowed to participate in these races. A driver who is registered in RPM and does not
have a carfile uploaded into RPM by 7:30 PM EST on race day will be penalized -2 championship
points.
-
All drivers are required to be on Teamspeak 2. It is our
primary tool for driver-to-driver communications. No chatting it up during the races!
This is especially important when a caution comes out. Drivers need to be able
to hear their spotters and admins in order to avoid confusion on the track and unnecessary
black flags.
-
Don't put other drivers in unecessary risky positions. If your
connection is weak and you are warping, or you are having steering wheel issues, you are to
avoid close contact with other drivers until your connection stabilizies even if this means
dropping to the back of the field.
-
Turn off televisions and cell phones. If you find it absolutely
necessary to make or take a call during a race, pull your car down onto pit road and stay in
your pit box until you are finished with your call.
-
Provisionals: All drivers are allowed up to
6 provisionals to use during the course of the season for each series in the event that they
cannot make it to a race. Provisional points example: If 10 drivers ran in the
race and you took one of your provisionals, you would get 12th place points. If several
drivers chose to take one of their provisionals, they will all get 12th place points.
-
Practice: The server will start up at 7:30 PM
EST for a 90 minute practice session before every race. Every driver who intends to qualify
must be logged in and run at least 15 minutes of practice laps during the practice session.
All drivers are required to practice pitting during the practice session. Drivers who do
not get at least 15 minutes of practice time in will not be allowed to qualify, must start at
the rear of the field and will be credited with their 1st caution before the race begins.
-
Qualifying: Only drivers who have had more than 15 minutes of actual practice on the track will be
allowed to qualify. Once qualifying is complete there will be no resetting
the server for late arriving drivers. There is to be absolutely no talking on Teamspeak
over the open channel while the qualifying session is in progress. Once the timer for the
qualifying session has switched over to the Happy Hour session, talking on the open channel
may resume.
-
Happy Hour: All drivers are required to take at least one warmup
lap and are required to make at least one successful practice pit stop during the Happy
Hour session.
-
Race: Pace speeds +/-3 MPH until green flag is
waved. Drivers must maintain no more than 2 car lengths distance behind the car in
front of them. If you're coming from pits hot on a restart lap, and not in pacing
position, then you are not allowed to pass anyone until after you have reached the end of
turn 2.
-
Restarts: If a driver causes a wreck in
the first few laps of a race, and it results in a restart of the race, the driver who is
responsible will carry that caution over into the next restart, thus once the race gets
going, that driver will already have 1 caution against them. A driver who causes
3 cautions is required to park his race car for the remainder of the event and will recieve
a 2 point penalty.
-
Yellow Flag: Caution! - FIELD IS FROZEN, NO RACING BACK TO THE LINE (except with 10
laps or less to go on ovals and 3 laps or less on road courses).
-
Cautions: If you caused a caution, claim responsibility quickly.
No one racing here intentionally wrecks anybody but accidents do happen. The
sooner we clear things up, (who the Lucky Dog is, who is going to the end of the longest
line, whose caution it was, etc.), the sooner we can go back to green. A race official
reviews the race replay the following morning each week and the race official will determine
who was at fault in cases where no one claimed responsibility during the race. Post race points
penalties may be applied.
-
A driver who causes a caution needs to go to the end of the longest line for the
restart. A driver who causes a second caution is required to go to the end of the
longest line. A driver who causes a third caution is required to park his race car for
the remainder of the event and that driver will recieve a 2 point deduction in their points
total for that evening.
-
EOLL: A driver who is required to go to the end of the
longest line is to make his pitstop the second time by and speed on pitroad to trigger an EOLL penalty.
-
Spins & Wrecks:
Drivers involved in a spin or wreck are required to stay where they are and wait until it's
clear to proceed!
WARNING!!! If you spin and the caution does not come out, DO NOT
attempt to deliberately bring out the yellow for your own benefit. All cautions are reviewed by replay and if it is
determined that you deliberately caused the caution flag to come out, you will be penalized
25 championship points for each occurance and placed on probation. If you can't move your
car for some reason, use your "escape" key to call for a tow truck.
-
Damaged Cars That Are A Lap Down:
Drivers who know that their cars are badly damaged AND they are a lap or more behind the leader,
are asked to line up at the EOLL for restarts following a caution period. The driver of a
badly damaged AND lapped car can get the EOLL penalty by speeding down pitroad when they pit
the second time by.
-
Lucky Dog: The 1st car that is not on the lead lap, and is not at
fault for the incident that brings out the caution gets the Lucky Dog. The Lucky Dog
will be announced after the leader picks up the pace car and the field crosses the start/finish
line to begin the 1st complete lap of yellow. There is no Lucky Dog if the caution
comes out with 10 laps or less to go in the race on ovals. There is no Lucky Dog if the
caution comes out with 3 laps or less to go in the race on road courses.
-
Lucky Dog Procedure: If you are awarded with
the Lucky Dog, you are to pit normally the second time by pit road entrance. After you make
your pitstop, line up behind the pace car on the inside line. At the "one to go" signal, pass
the pace car, drive around and line up at the end of the longest line. An admin will clear
your black flag for you at the restart.
-
Pit road: Drivers must stay in the outside lane. Don't drive
through other drivers pit boxes. If no one is behind you it is OK to drive down the inside
lanes or through other drivers pit stalls if they are vacant.
-
Hot Pitting:
Under a green condition, "Hot Pitting" is defined as entering pit road at a speed that is far
greater than the posted pit road speed limit. The NR2003 software has a tendency to not
black flag a driver when they "Hot Pit" properly.
NASCAR allows their drivers to enter pit road at a speed up to 5 MPH faster than the posted pit
road speed limit as long as the drivers are in the process of slowing down to the speed limit
when they reach a certain timing line. When the drivers exceed the 5 MPH buffer they are
black flagged.
In an effort to remain consistant with the NASCAR rules, entering pit road at a speed of up to
5 MPH over the posted pit road speed limit will be allowed here at N4Nites Racing.
WARNING!!! Drivers beware that accidents happening on pit road as a result of hot pitting manuevers
will be considered wreckless driving incidents and will be treated as such.
If you are black flagged by the software for failing to execute a 'hot pit' correctly, even
if you entered pit road at a speed that was less than 5 MPH over the posted speed limit, you
will be required to serve your black flag penalty in order to clear it.
Because we can not always monitor every drivers pitstops during the race, ALL pitstops will be
reviewed the following day by Race Officials. Drivers are advised to 'police' themselves
during the race to avoid recieving any post race penalties.
The best thing to do if you think you have exceeded 5 MPH (meaning 6 MPH or more) over the
posted pit road speed limit on one of your pitstops during the race is to do a drive through
down pit road on your own on your VERY NEXT LAP at the posted speed limit, just as you would
do if you had to serve a black flag issued by the software, and report to the admins that you
are doing so. This drive through must be completed on the drivers VERY NEXT LAP following
the incident, not on the second lap following the incident.
If a driver was unsure if they exceeded 5 MPH over the posted speed limit entering pit road and
they did a drive through on their own, and it is later found that the driver did not exceed 5
MPH over the posted speed limit, no post race credit or lap back will be given to that driver.
During the Race Official's review of the replay, any driver who is found to have exceeded 5 MPH
over the posted speed limit entering pit road during any pitstop, (with the exception
of a driver who was speeding to get an EOLL penalty), will be charged 1 lap per incident if
they did not take it upon themselves during the race to do a drive through on their VERY NEXT
LAP following the incident.
-
Black Flags: The only black flags that will be
cleared will be those that are for the Lucky Dog. Black flags issued by the game for any
other reasons will stand, so pay attention to what's going on around you at all times.
-
After The Checkered Flag: All drivers
except for the winner are to drive all the way around the track safely and retire from
the PIT AREA or from the INFIELD after they have taken the checkers.
WARNING!!! Just because you crossed the start / finish
line doesn't mean the race is over. The race is not over until the last car takes
the checkers. If you deliberately wreck your car or someone elses car at the end of a
race and it causes a caution to come out before all drivers have crossed the start / finish
line, it is considered to be the same as if you did it in the middle of the race and you will
recieve a penalty of -25 championship points.
-
Tech Inspection: On occaision,
the top 3 finishers in the race may be required to pass a "Tech Inspection" which consists
of providing a screenshot of their tire wear. Click Here
for instructions on how to complete the process.
-
Flaming or Arguing: Absolutely NO FLAMING OR ARGUING will be tolerated!
If you can't say it in church, don't say it here. If you begin arguing and you are
warned by the race officials to stop, and you don't stop, it will be followed by a black
flag (up to ejection from the race and possibly the league). There will be no
complaining about an incident during a race regardless of who is at fault. If you
feel that you have a legitimate complaint about an incident, you should save the race
replay and make a clip of the incident. Send your complaint, along with your replay
clip to the League Director.
You must send in your a complaint within 24 hours of the finish of the race.
-
Agreement: You must have read and understood
these rules before you can continue with joining the N4Nites Racing League.
